The design of the extension proposal for the Genoa airport station, taking its first steps through an environmental analysis.
Subsequently, the focus is on a more appropriate redistribution of flows within the structure, for the purpose of a more logical and better route than the passenger.
Once the usability problem was solved, the focus turned to the design of the structure.
The design was guided by the surrounding area with strong presence: sea, port and industrial area. These elements have allowed us to give an identity to the project. The coverage that in terms of color and shape of geometrical waves recalls the sea, the profile of the extension structure recalls the bow of a ship and the whole complex recalls the industry in its structural elements.
The final effect is that of a large open space where light is the master, filtering through the large glass frontage and the zenithal openings in the roof.
